Population Connection Action Fund announced that it has endorsed Betsy Londrigan for election to the United States House of Representatives.

Brian Dixon, Senior Vice President at Population Connection Action Fund, said, “We’re proud to endorse Betsy Londrigan for election to Congress. She’s fighting to make life better for everyone. Rodney Davis, on the other hand, has dedicated the last four years of his life to making life easier for Donald Trump. Betsy Londrigan understands that access to reproductive health care and family planning are crucial to healthy people, healthy families, and healthy communities. And she’ll fight for that access in Congress.”

The policies being promoted by the Trump/Pence Administration are undermining reproductive health and freedom around the world. The Global Gag Rule is shuttering health clinics and cutting off access to care. The refusal to release aid to the United Nations Population Fund denies crucial maternal and reproductive health care to people in desperate circumstances. The ongoing attacks on Planned Parenthood threaten to deny millions of Americans the health care they need. The continued effort to undermine the Affordable Care Act could strip away protections for people with pre-existing conditions and others struggling to pay for care. The withdrawal from the World Health Organization threatens to exacerbate the current global pandemic and make future pandemics more likely.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of Population Connection Action Fund because I know firsthand the importance of health care access,” said Londrigan. “In Congress, I will fight to protect and expand access to quality, affordable health care including access to reproductive health care.”

Dixon added, “Rodney Davis has done nothing but enable Donald Trump’s cruelty, chaos, and corruption. Betsy Londrigan will stand up for health, empowerment, and rights for people everywhere. We’re proud to stand with her.”
