Population Connection Action Fund announced that it has endorsed Dan Feehan for election to the United States House of Representatives.

Brian Dixon, Senior Vice President at Population Connection Action Fund, said, “Unlike his opponent in this race, Dan Feehan recognizes the dignity and value of all people. The people of southern Minnesota will be well served by electing him to Congress.”

The policies being promoted by the Trump/Pence Administration are undermining reproductive health and freedom around the world. The Global Gag Rule is shuttering health clinics and cutting off access to care. The refusal to release aid to the United Nations Population Fund denies crucial maternal and reproductive health care to people in desperate circumstances. The ongoing attacks on Planned Parenthood threaten to deny millions of Americans the health care they need. The continued effort to undermine the Affordable Care Act could strip away protections for people with pre-existing conditions and others struggling to pay for care.

“For too many around the world, including southern Minnesotans, access to healthcare is not only a matter of dollars, it’s a matter of distance,” said Feehan. “In Congress, I will work tirelessly to ensure that every person in southern Minnesota has affordable and accessible healthcare. I will take that same commitment to work with Population Connection Action Fund to protect reproductive healthcare and ensure that it is affordable and accessible for everyone.”

Dixon added, “Dan Feehan will stand up to the shortsighted, misguided cruelty of this administration. Dan Feehan will stand up for the victims of human rights violations, not the violators. Dan Feehan will fight for the rights of all people to choose their own futures. Dan Feehan will fight for health, empowerment and rights for people everywhere. We are proud to stand with him.”
