Population Connection Action Fund announced that it has endorsed Greg Stanton for re-election to the United States House of Representatives.

Brian Dixon, Senior Vice President at Population Connection Action Fund, said, “We’re proud to endorse Greg Stanton for re-election to Congress. He has shown himself to be a leader and a champion for people everywhere.”

The policies being promoted by the Trump/Pence Administration are undermining reproductive health and freedom around the world. The Global Gag Rule is shuttering health clinics and cutting off access to care. The refusal to release aid to the United Nations Population Fund denies crucial maternal and reproductive health care to people in desperate circumstances. The ongoing attacks on Planned Parenthood threaten to deny millions of Americans the health care they need. The continued effort to undermine the Affordable Care Act could strip away protections for people with pre-existing conditions and others struggling to pay for care.

Rep. Stanton has been steadfast in his opposition to these policies and his support for expanding access to crucial reproductive health care. “I’ve been proud to work with Population Connection Action Fund and its #Fight4HER campaign to expand access to reproductive health and promote reproductive rights around the world. I’m a strong supporter of the Global Health, Empowerment and Rights (HER) Act to repeal the harmful Global Gag Rule. I’m proud to have their support in this campaign,” said Stanton.

Dixon added, “Greg Stanton is standing up to the shortsighted, misguided cruelty of this administration. Greg Stanton is standing up for the victims of human rights violations, not the violators. Greg Stanton is fighting for the rights of all people to choose their own futures. Greg Stanton is fighting for health, empowerment, and rights for people everywhere. Voters in Arizona’s 9th District will be well served by keeping in Congress. We are proud to stand with him.”
