Population Connection Action Fund, the political arm of Population Connection and America’s population movement, announced today its endorsement of Jerry McNerney (D-CA) for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. McNerney earned a 100 percent score on the Action Fund’s 2015-2016 Congressional Report Card.
“Population Connection Action Fund is proud to endorse Jerry McNerney, a dedicated advocate for women’s reproductive rights, for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives,” said John Seager, President and CEO of Population Connection Action Fund.
During his time in the House of Representatives, Rep. McNerney has fought to preserve and expand the reproductive rights of women. He has been an outspoken proponent of women’s rights to have autonomy over their own bodies and health care decisions. He has sponsored and voted for legislations that prevent limitations on women’s access to abortions and contraceptives and family planning. He has also been an advocate for continued U.S. funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
“Rep. McNerney has proved time and time that he is a true champion for women and girls across the United States and around the world. We are excited to help him come back to the House of Representatives,” Seager said.
