Population Connection Action Fund, the political arm of Population Connection and America’s population movement, announced today its endorsement of Joe Crowley (D-NY) for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Crowley earned a 100 percent score on the Action Fund’s 2015-2016 Congressional Report Card.
“Population Connection Action Fund is proud to endorse Joe Crowley for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives,” said John Seager, president of Population Connection Action Fund.
Rep. Crowley has been a key leader in the ongoing battle to ensure that women everywhere have access to affordable contraceptives and reproductive health care. He has spoken out against efforts to end assistance to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He has also called for the repeal of the Global Rule, which prevents overseas organizations that receive U.S. funding from discussing or mentioning abortion to patient, even when requested by women or allowed by law.
He has advocated for increased access to emergency contraceptives. He has worked to increase funding for contraceptives and family planning at home and abroad.
“Rep. Crowley never fails to be a steadfast champion for women’s health and reproductive rights in New York and around the world. We are proud to stand with him and help him return to the House,” Seager added.
