Population Connection Action Fund, the political arm of Population Connection, announced today its endorsement of Katie McGinty for election to the United States Senate from Pennsylvania.
“Population Connection Action Fund is proud to support Katie McGinty, a steadfast supporter of women’s health, empowerment and rights for election to the United States Senate,” said John Seager, president and CEO of Population Connection Action Fund.
McGinty offers a sharp contrast to her opponent, Senator Pat Toomey, who has supported the extremist attacks on reproductive health services across the United States and around the world. Toomey has not only voted to increase limitations on abortion rights, but also opposed funding for United Nations Population Fund, an organization dedicated to providing family planning to disadvantaged women around the world. He has supported the repeal of Roe vs. Wade and voted twice to defund Planned Parenthood. Toomey has also advocated for imprisoning doctors for providing abortion services and for employers deciding whether or not women should have access to reproductive health care.
“Katie McGinty has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life for people everywhere. And we are excited to support her as she takes on a Senator who has campaigned against progress and equality and rights for women,” added Seager.
