Population Connection Action Fund, the political arm of Population Connection and America’s population movement, announced today its endorsement of Mike Honda (D-CA) for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Honda earned a 100 percent score on the Action Fund’s 2015-2016 Congressional Report Card.

Rep. Honda has been a strong voices for reproductive rights at the U.S. House of Representatives. His voting record is one of exemplary consistency in providing women with increased access to whole reproductive care. He has voted to expand access to contraceptives for low-income women and prevent limitations to access to safe abortions and he has been a proponent of continuing U.S. funding for international family planning. He has also called for clarifying the Helms Amendment to allow U.S. funding for abortion overseas in case of incest, rape or risk to the life of women. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Honda has worked to ensure that programs to ensure access to affordable contraceptives to women at home and around the world are supported and strengthened.
