SCOTUS Endangers Access to Birth Control in the U.S.

Statement from Brian Dixon, Population Connection Action Fund’s senior vice president for media and government relations, in response to the U.S. Supreme Court Little Sisters of the Poor Saints Peter and Paul Home v. Pennsylvania ruling:

“It’s impossible to overstate how disturbing it is that the Court has decided that a boss’ beliefs are more important than an employee’s health. When employers claim a “moral” objection to deny their workers coverage for birth control, tens of thousands of people are harmed. Employers have no business discriminating against the types of health care their employees can and cannot receive, and politicians have no business putting their ambition above the moral agency of women and families. Denial of care is not an act of faith. It’s an act of violence.”
