Population Connection Action Fund’s Senior Vice President for Media and Government Relations, Brian Dixon, issued the following statement on the Senate vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court:

“What happened today in the Senate is grotesque. Brett Kavanaugh has no business sitting in judgement of anything – really, he’s spent far too much of his life doing that already.

This is a terrible day for justice. A terrible day for America. We have given a partisan GOP operative a seat on the highest court in the land.

Kavanaugh is cruel. He is dishonest. And he is oblivious to the suffering of others. And that’s why Trump picked him.

We’re sad. We’re frustrated. We’re angry. And we’re committed to fighting to elevate the voices of people Brett Kavanaugh and his supporters in the Senate have ignored.

To Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and to the countless other survivors who spoke out during the confirmation process: We hear you. We believe you. We will honor you when we go to the polls this November. We will keep fighting for you, your rights, and the rights of people everywhere to control their own bodies and futures.”
